Pugwash is located in Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, right in the middle of the beautiful Maritimes. This rural community hospital offers variety to any care provider, including primary care, urgent care, ambulatory care services, a small inpatient unit, and a number of outpatient services like minor procedures, labs, diagnostic imaging, rehab, mental health services, dietitians, and more.
Pugwash is one of the few places left in the province that offers family physicians the rewarding professional experience of providing cradle-to-grave healthcare for their patients. Opportunities For Physicians
We offer physicians a chance to participate in a Collaborative Family Practice Team consisting of 3 physicians, 2 nurse practitioners, and a family practice nurse, along with administrative support and visiting clinicians from Mental Health & Addictions, Diabetes Education Centre, Nutrition Services, and others.
Physicians can offer minor procedures in our outpatient clinics and have access to our on-site lab and DI services to maximize patient care. Physicians can participate in a variety of on-call coverage including a Residential Care Facility, Long Term Care, Virtual Care, and Inpatients, as well as participate in the Urgent Treatment Centre rotation.
